Evernote celebrates its 5th birthday and those who use it can immediately agree that it has become their external brain.
Evernote is like a notepad online and on steroids. Here are a couple of reasons.
No pesky need to hit the save button.
When you use Microsoft Word, you constantly need to keep reminding if you pressed the Control S button. If you don't press that occasional Control S and you accidentally quite Word, good luck to you. YMicrosoft Word may saved your draft, but sometimes, you really can't be so sure.
Evernote syncs the note to their cloud server through quick intervals which are non-intrusive. If you are not online, it will just automatically update into the PC.
No need to save documents as files
When you save a Word document, you have to think of where to save it and what to name the file. Sometimes, you just save it to desktop and your desktop becomes cluttered with docs.
Evernote, on the other, sees each note as part of a notebook and automatically saves the document as part of that notebook. Here you don't have to remind yourself where you should save your file and where to find it later.
Use it as a doc attachment for Whatsaap
It is true that the mobile generation today is less inclined to check their email. In fact, most of them would rather communicate on Whatsapp.
So how do you capture these mobile generation's attention. Use Evernote.
Evernote allows you to sync to the Evernote mobile app. From the Evernote mobile app, you can share the Evernote via a link via Whatsapp. The recipient just needs to click the link and that Evernote appears on their mobile browser.
Apparently this method works very well to get the mobile generation to reach the doc attachment.
So far, when I asked if they read their email, I would most like get a "no". If I shared the Evernote to their Whatsapp, I would get a definite "yes" that they have read the doc.
