A Price Is Right US$21,960 Mistake Or Free Advertising On Youtube

Model Manuela Arbelaez gave away a USD 21,960 car away on the game show "The Price Is Right" and the clip has become the gameshow's most viewed video in its Youtube channel. The video clip has already generated 5 million views as of this writing. The most popular video I can find on the "The Price Is Right" channel is the clip of the "USD7,000" iPhone 6, which was looking at 1.8 million views. Model Manuela Arbelaez wasn't fired for her gaffe though she thought she would be. Wrote Today , “It was a brain fart,” said Arbelaez. “I just zoned out. I literally did not see that coming. My body took over and reacted before my brain had a chance to stop it.” The goof brought Arbelaez to tears and sent “Price is Right” host Drew Carey into a giggle fit. “Congratulations, Manuela just gave you a car,” Carey told the contestant.  This gaffe probably generated more attention to the show that it ever had. In Singapore, with h...

Happy 10th Birthday Youtube

Youtube turned 10 on 14 February 2015 and the online video site has become a mainstream of today's internet. Before Youtube, I could remember businesses trying to load up videos into their website. Space wasn't the biggest issue, it was bandwidth. These business had to spend money budgeted for bandwidth and it could never be used at all. Even when the bandwidth issue is solved, businesses need to think of how to embed it on their websites. With Youtube, all businesses need is to focus on the content. Storage space, bandwidth and how to embed the video is no longer an issue. Youtube has also benefited the end-users. Youtube converted end-users to content creators and they now have a medium to put their ideas into video, into cyberspace, to reach out to their own audience. Below is the first video uploaded on Youtube. GANGNAM STYLE has become one of the most watched video on Youtube. It became so popular that it broke the Youtube counters . You know Youtube has ...

Why the New Water Wally video is not safe for citizens and children

Singapore's Public Utility Board, PUB, launched the new Water Wally Shower Dance Music Video to share tips on conserving water usage. The intention must have been for the greater good but the delivery reeks of mind control of citizens and paedophilia. In the video, ordinary citizens are going on their daily routine. Then a mascot, Water Wally, that looks like a water droplet sneaks from behind without informing the citizens and mind controls them to do what Water Wally feels is the right thing to do. Why would and could a citizen, in a democratic country, like Singapore approve to this?  I understand the importance of water conservation but it is necessary for a statutory board to force its will on the people? Is that what the video is trying to say? However, the most disturbing part starts at 0:13. Water Wally is seen opening the door of the bathroom when a boy, below 12, is taking a shower and smiling at the boy. Given Water Wally's new mind controlling abilitie...

Ah Lian top hit - "Why scold me, Auntie?" (to the tune of So Call Me Baby)

A girl, which social media described as the Ah Lian of the week, gave up her seat on the MRT to an Auntie, and instead of being thanked, this Ah Lian was screamed at. (Video of fight after the lyrics.) So I dedicated this lyrics to that unknown Ah Lian.. Sung to the tune of Carly Ray Jepsen "Call Me Baby" and lots of Singlish.  I threw my ass of my seat,  Don't ask me, you never say. I looked at you scared you fall, and now you scold me everytime... I trade my sit just to stand,  MRT seats very ex siah.. I wasn't looking for this,  but now you're in my face. Your stare was scary, Yellow shirt, with saliva spitting. Hot train, air con not blowing,  Why you think you can shout at me.... {Chorus}  Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy,  But here is my seating,  why scold me, Auntie? It's hard to look right,  at you Auntie, but here is my seating,  why scold me, Auntie? An...

In 1994, we asked "What is the Internet?"

I came across this via Twitter about morning show host asking to explain the Internet. Email was also known as Internet address. Today, the Internet is so prevalent that we have it even in out mobile phone. My son, today, expects the Internet to be there whenever he touches the iPad. This is so he can watch his favourite Transformer video on Youtube. We have come so far, Internet...
