Fight Night @ The Twitterdome

One reporter vs one product marketing consultant.

One made rude Twitter remarks while the other stayed cool and calm throughout the whole fight.

The latter claimed Twitter victory.

It all started when the reporter called the marketing person and she didn’t return the call back.

Product marketing consultant, April Dunford, then tweeted what the reporter said about her.

@sirdavid, the reporter, replied.. wtf?

sirdavid: @aprildunford what the fuck. I called you for comment two days ago. What did you expect when you called me back? Don’t post that shit online

sirdavid: @aprildunford furthermore, I called you several times in the afternoon. Don’t be condescending to me when I actually wanted to talk to you

sirdavid: @aprildunford how about you stop blasting personal conversations on twitter and call me back. what the hell is wrong with you.

aprildunford: @sirdavid All I did was return your call. I didn’t expect you to do anything. Wow. Like, seriously, calm down.

sirdavid: @aprildunford & then repost everything? & then hang up on me & don’t call back? I’ve recorded everything. U don’t look as nice as u put on

aprildunford: @sirdavid Dude - I never said who you were. Twitter meet David. David is having a bad day. David, meet Twitter.

@aprildunford has claimed Twitter victory and has used this experience on how to deal with such rage.

April wrote, “I think I've said everything I can on either Twitter or the mediastyle.ca post on what he said/she said so I will let the who was right and wrong discussion take place over there (and frankly, it's all so like, 2 hours ago). What it did get me thinking about is what lessons we can learn from all of this.”

This include:

  1. Be nice because power is shifting
  2. Don't forget there are people behind that text
  3. Apologize and move on already
  4. Being deeply involved in Social Media has bizarre risks you never dreamed of but it's OK!

One cannot forget what you say online will come back to haunt you one day!

How UOB's Paper Trail Amplifies IT Greatest Security Threat

UOB required you to do everything on paper. If you want to change your mobile number for your banking account with them or for your credit card, you need to fill up a form. Yet, this paper trail represented a potential security fail for the bank - Human Error. So a bitcoin expert walked into UOB to open a bank account.
