Social networks might be on the rise, but interestingly a survey of the top 10 Internet activities for Gen Y Singaporeans (age 15 – 29) showed that email is still a very popular activity online.

The ACNielsen Oct 2009 survey showed that 80% used email. Social Networking is 53% and gathering information on product or service is at 46%.

Another report from ComScore showed that the average time Singaporen spend online is 21.4 hours per user per month in August 2009. That puts Singapore the 2nd highest # of hours in Asia.
