Tiger Airways may have abandoned their Facebook Page with fans noticing that the status updates have been deleted to May 2010 and fans are no longer allowed to comment on it.
Is abandoning a Facebook Page with over 60k fans a good idea? Sure, there are complains but also those who compliment your Facebook Page. Could it worsen Tiger Airways affected image for abandoning 60k fans which is almost akin to abandoning passengers with the frequent cancellation of flights?
A search on Facebook, however, resulted in the sprouting out of new Facebook Pages which look at attracting fans disappointed with Tiger Airways.
AirAsia also have unhappy customers but so far it seems limited to just one group.
Lesson learnt here is that as easy it is for Brands to start Facebook Pages, it would also be as easy for angry customers to start one too.
The question is do you want to address this within your owned control page or just ignore it and let fan’s start their own Pages.
